The Art of laundry
Throughout history, in gardens and at firesides, over baths, and on balconies; hanging laundry on a clothesline was far more than just draping clothes over a rope. It was a careful and deliberate process, an art form of sorts. The task required a keen eye for space, balance, and precision. Each garment having it’s place on the line, strategically positioned to catch the most sun and breeze, in a perfect drying spot. The charming appeal of wind dancing fabrics, juxtapositions of texture and scale, harmonious colour and the lovely blend of multi-generational garments is not lost on artists working within a variety of styles and times.

To celebrate our final day of term, we enjoyed our last Art class in the garden, followed by a lovely lunch in the sunshine! We could get used to this!

To all our Artists and all of our gallery audience, Thank you for a wonderful term
All of your work is magical and unique, and each week you show commitment and exciting new skills, but more than that, you show up, and show each other the value of making, and creating together.
Art, and coffee with friends. What’s not to like?
