Near a place where the fairies play

Dream team to get there and help set things up

A lovely old barn and a welcome from Claire

a very big birthday to celebrate there.

So swiftly we pulled paints and brushes from bags,

aware of the dwindling time which we had.

The family came , growing buzz in the air.. ,

waiting for Lynda … feet on the stair

And soon happy birthday , we are your surprise!

A moment’s confusion then joy in her eyes!

The children excited, the tables all set

Anticipating what masterpieces we’d get!

Beginning with canvas we layered and glued,

creating a background, a texture and mood.

Tools to get scratching and blowers to squeeze

Painting on tissue and stencilling trees

Building up layers, woodlands and skies

Creatures and textures, a hidden surprise

Textures appear, layers come and then go

Mostly on canvas, or maybe a nose..

Soon new creations were fully in bloom

Calm,joy and colours throughout the room

Next came the details, the fur and the stars

Adding the magic from bottles and jars

Plenty of teamwork, focus and drive

Each lovely landscape coming alive

Pure concentration, each in the zone

Each picture holding a court of its own

A birthday like no other , messy, fun and so unique

Each and every painting, a memory now to keep

Magic on the moorlands, magic in the trees
Make a world from paint and ink just like these busy bees
