Hi I’m Liz. I am an Artist and an Art teacher.

The early morning is my favourite part of the day and holds all the secrets to good inspiration!

I sat at my studio window one morning and watched a baby deer wander past !! We can find interesting things to draw everywhere. take photos, make sketches, tear pictures from magazines, all these things form a picture of your particular interests.

My Art business was developed after I experienced significant health issues, and since taking early retirement from main stream teaching, I have dedicated my time to enabling others to continue creating despite obstacles.

I believe we create a unique and nurturing space where people can develop their creativity and confidence in a safe and inspiring way.

Art classes bring joy, new experiences, create positive relationships and happy memories for everyone. And that’s before the Art!

To me, creativity should be accessible to anyone, regardless of prior drawing experience, and to enable those with little or no confidence to try something new and feel that they have achieved new skills in a supportive environment.

I have worked in Community Arts, with very young children, teenagers, with specialist care groups and also with Mental Health projects, and dementia patients. I also also taught as a Secondary school teacher for twenty years, and exhibited my own artwork in numerous galleries, craft and trade fairs.

I have a lovely home studio and making room which is both a place to create and to teach small groups.

Art Themes

Since Covid we have enjoyed a weekly Art theme in the Art groups in Scotland and Devon with participants joining in from as far afield as America and Spain.

Each word is a prompt for thinking of a creative response ( and is optional ) Throughout the years the themes have covered most main aspects of drawing and painting genres, as well as introduced different Artists as inspiration.
