A naughty sweet treat

The way we paint, whether it is the depth of the paint itself (thick paint is called impasto) and the application of the media, how it blends with other things and how we feel when we create, all have a huge impact on our work. Listening to the right music, feeling content in the space, having the right materials to hand when you need them, sets up the process and makes it far more enjoyable. And how we make marks- short and stubby, scratchy, long and flat, layered and sketchy, or long, flowing lines, tell the story of the object we are capturing, they help apply the media, and are an integral part of the therapeutic value of making that piece. Go with the flow and swirl… If it was good enough for Van Gogh..
Have a fabulous week
