Shadow colour
Shadows are commonly thought to be grey, but they can vary in color depending on the light source and other factors. There are two types of shadows: cast shadows, created by an object blocking light, and body shadows, which are parts of an object facing away from the light. The temperature of the light influences the tone of the shadow—warm light creates cold shadows and vice versa.
To create realistic shadow colors, use a color wheel; identify the object’s color, and then find its complementary color on the wheel. Adding a bit of the complementary color to the original will create a darker, harmonious shadow without resorting to greys or black. Experimentation with different mixtures enhances shadow painting skills and overall artwork depth.
Shadow and light, the ever swirling dance of colour. Lengthening our strides and grounding earth’s treasures.
Our shadows go where we go ♥️

Have a wonderful week
