Abundance

So many feet upon the earth
Collecting shiny things
A magpies nest of china cups and sparkling golden rings.

Tables laden, bellies full
We groan with Christmas belly.
And drown in choices, what to watch?
with chocolates on the telly.

For most of us abundance captures what we taste or see
But at this time of year perhaps there is,
A different way to be

In gratitude for hands of friends,
Who help you fix your doors
Or bring you soup and candles
When you can't move any more.

Abundance is the people who, regardless of your style,
Your tastes, your unique blend of mad
Would run for you, a mile.

And not give it a second thought
Your hand in theirs a glove
In riches thus, abundance is
The greatest source of love.

Abundance of lavender

Bringing calm and balm
