Blast from lush green sturdy stems 
Firework colours jostle,  proud :
Their coats like precious gems 

Love them right this minute
Catch their rainbow in your eyes
Seize their shapes and scent and joy
Before their life is dry 

Before the air and sun and moon
Returns them back again
To earth where they were grown before
Beneath the spring and rain 

For every flower has a moment 
Shining in the sun
Some a second, some a lifetime
Some aren't yet begun 

Pushing through the winter frost
We too restart our story
And celebrate the start of spring
With nature and her glory .
